Wilbarger Brushing Protocol
The complete protocol usually takes 2-3 minutes to administer. Run this plastic bristle brush over the child’s skin, using moderate to firm pressure – it is like a deep pressure massage which provides a calming sensory experience. Brushing starts at the arms and works down to the feet. Repeat at least twice daily, for visible results. Important! The face, chest, and stomach area are never brushed because these are very sensitive areas. Brushing these areas may cause adverse reactions including vomiting.
Caring for your Wilbarger brush:
Brushes are to be rinsed under running water. Do not use strong soap or detergents. Do not sterilize. Use only for its intended purposes – not to scrub vegetables, not to groom pets or any other purpose.
