 Essential oils have an instant effect when inhaled as they are made up of tiny molecules absorbed through the nose’s blood vessels. The first stop for these tiny molecules is in the brain where attach to the relevant receptors to have an immediate effect on mood and mind. The molecules are oily, so they also mix with the oils on the skin and are absorbed through the skin to be available in the bloodstream within 30 minutes after application on the skin. Each oil consists of 20 or more of these compounds (types of tiny molecules) which work together to impart a broader impact on various receptors in the body. This affords an overall therapeutic effect.
