These classroom timers are battery operated, so there is no annoying ticking sound as they count down. All you have to do is set the timer to the time period, and the red indicator will clearly show time passing.
You can also set the loudness level of the alarm to make it easier for your class.

I used to struggle to get my son to stop watching TV. He would have tantrums, and freak out if I switched it off. It got to a point where he would come home from school, go straight to the TV and watch until he had to sleep that night. He would eat, get dressed and play in front of the TV. He is only two but figured out how to use the remote to switch to his programmes. When I got the timer, I was skeptical but tried it anyway. I set the alarm as a time limit for his TV viewing and when the alarm goes off I tell him it’s time to switch off. It took three days to get him into the swing of it but now he voluntarily switches off the TV when the alarm goes off. It was a game changer for us.

The visual timer has been very helpful for my daughter. Since she finds the sound of alarms stressful the ability to turn off the sound and just have the visual prompt is very helpful and my daughter finds it motivating to have it their to let her know how much time is left.
Works as described and has helped my son immensely both in class and at home! Good quality too, even though a bit pricey.
